Rules for the cloud

For potential users of cloud services, it’s important that providers commit to supplying a reliable service, that the communication around this is correct and that they cooperate in providing the desired degree of assurance about this.

At the same time, providers need assurance that users won’t utilise the service in a way that detracts from the providers’ efforts to guarantee a reliable service. As we have seen, there are currently no guidelines for the interaction between the providers and users of cloud services.

In consultation with providers, branch organisations and user representatives, the Online Trust Coalition plans to work towards the establishment of ‘Rules for the cloud’. Alignment will expressly be sought with the code of conduct (Cloud Rule Book) for Gaia-X.
